Scavenger Hunt Ideas

A fun idea for family gatherings or groups. All that is needed is a polaroid or digital camera with a photo veiwer, a list of things to take pictures of and some people.

Divide your people into groups making sure each group has one camera, the scavenger list, a watch to keep track of time and a set time limit. Send your groups out to find the desired objects, take a photo and then move on to the next object. Meet back at the agreed upon spot at the agreed upon time and take a look at the photos. Its that easy.

The fun comes in with the scavenger list. Get creative but remember that you don't want anyone to get into trouble so keep it safe. Here are some suggestions.

Animal Scavenger Hunt: can specify whether they are allowed to take pictures in a pet shop or not.

bird, dog, cat, squirrel, chipmunk, mouse, snake, rabbit, skunk

Object Scavenger Hunt:

used straw, tree, gravestone, sign post, stop sign, park bench, flower bed, statue

Action Scavenger Hunt: these are for someone in your group to do and have their picture taken while doing it.

Picture with a store clerk.

Trying on an outfit that other members of the group picked out.

Someone climbing a tree.

Helping someone across the street.

Making a funny face at a pedestrian.

Car Scavenger Hunt: Make a list of cars you want pictures taken of. To make it more difficult specify a certain color or year of car.

Mix and match the above list or actions for even more fun.

I've been trying to come up with scavenger hunt ideas using cell phones. The ones with cameras.I was thinking of supplying a scavenger hunt list of where to go, call me when you get there, and then I'll tell you what to take a picture of?Of course, that would probably require alot of scouting of the areas first. And then choosing a subject that won't possibly be moved before the contestents arrive.Anybody ever try anything like this?-- ScavHunter
